Near the end of Clarisabeth’s internship she made another discovery from within the collection of the historical society. She was cataloging a big section of archival documents when she found a collection of works that was not supposed to be there. This group of documents was from the Civil War and was a huge discovery. The documents included a diary, wallet, letters and a personalized canteen all from a Civil War soldier from the area. Finding these articles really told the life story of the man who fought during the Civil War. The soldier’s diary and letters talked about the battles and his involvement and thoughts on them. These documents really brought to life the stories that are told about the Civil War. The picture to the left is a letter from the soldiers commanding officer. The picture on the right is a letter of discharge for the soldier.
